Hollister Police Looking for Burglary Suspect
Seen using victim’s debit card.
Authorities with the Hollister Police Department are looking for a suspect in a residential burglary that occurred earlier this month.
The burglary occurred on April 4, on the 1700 Block of Cienega Road. Among the most important items taken in the burglary were an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) card and a loaded handgun. The homeowner returned home the next day to find that his house was ransacked and reported it to police.
The area where the house was located is not known for home burglaries.
“We have the occasional car burglaries in the area.” Hollister Police Chief Carols Reynoso said, “We are always asking people not the leave valuables in their car it only makes it tempting.”
On the night of the incident, the stolen ATM card was used at a local bank. Police have recovered the surveillance footage from the ATM, which did capture the image of an individual attempting to use the card.
While the suspected attempted to hide his face, the police are confident that someone who knows him could help identify him. Therefore, the Hollister Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
“We believe that the suspect might be still armed with the handgun,” Chief Reynoso added.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is requested to contact the Hollister Police Department at 831-636-4330. Persons wishing to remain anonymous may call the We Tip line at 800-78-CRIME. Information provided to We Tip may qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.
