Vacaville Police Arrest Teacher For Gun, Drug Charges on School Grounds
VACAVILLE – Vacaville police took into custody a Vacaville middle school teacher after a search of his vehicle revealed a firearm and illegal drugs. A trustworthy source had informed officials at Willis Jepson Middle School that Bobby Chambers, 53, a resident of Chico who is a teacher at the school, had hidden the loaded weapon and marijuana in his vehicle parked on the school’s campus.
The school officials contacted a Vacaville Police Youth Services officer, who conducted an on-site investigation. The officer contacted Chambers, who consented to the search of his vehicle. Along with the loaded handgun and less than an ounce of marijuana, the officer also uncovered supplemental ammunition and cocaine.
Chambers was subsequently arrested for several felony gun and drug charges and lodged at Solano County Jail.
