Arrest for Stolen Vehicle Leads to Discovery of Methamphetamines
Red Bluff– Officers with the Redding Police Department have arrested a man in connection with a vehicle stolen out of Redding.
Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Madison Street on Tuesday on a report of a vehicle that had been stolen out of Redding. During an initial search of the vehicle, officers found clues that linked the car and suspect to a certain Wal-Mart store in Red Bluff. Throughout the investigation, officers discovered that the stolen vehicle had in fact been driven to the Red Bluff Wal-Mart.
The following day, Officers were alerted that the suspect was currently inside the Wal-Mart. Officers responded to the store and arrested the suspect, 33 year-old William Richard Keys, who also uses the aliases of “Shy Boy” and “Chili.”
When officers searched him, Keys was in the possession of a glass pipe, 54.1 grams of methamphetamines and property linked with the sales of narcotics.
Keys was placed under arrest for the possession of stolen property as well as a felony warrant. He was also charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $83,000.
