Man Arrested for Sneaking Into Car, Kidnapping Teen at Knifepoint
A 16-year-old girl escaped unharmed after a man snuck into the backseat of her car, pulled out a knife and tried to kidnap her, police said.
According to the Fremont Police Department, officers responded to the area of Isherwood Way and Chaplin Drive at about 7:05 a.m. after neighbors reported that a girl told them that a man was chasing her with a knife.
The victim told officers that she drove to Lucky’s, parked her car at the Brookvale Shopping Center, and entered the store a little before 7 a.m.
While the victim was in the store, the suspect — identified as 23-year-old Aron Kumar Roy — entered her car and hid in the back seat, police said. The girl returned to the car and drove off. Shortly after, Roy revealed himself and pulled out a knife, instructing her to drive to a remote area off of Isherwood Way.
The victim managed to escape as she was parking the car and ran to a neighboring home for refuge, according to police.
