Escondido Police Arrest Man for Murder of Wife of 40 Years
Escondido Police have arrested a man after he admitted to officers he had just murdered his wife.
The man, 67 year-old Abdul Rehman Ibrahim, walked into the Escondido Police Department at 3:36 a.m. and informed officers he had just “killed his wife with a knife.” Ibrahim told officers to go to his home in the 1100 block of Catspaw Place.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found Ibrahim’s wife, 64 year-old Shambanoo Ibrahim, in a bedroom. She had been stabbed multiple times in the upper body area and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Officers believe she was stabbed while she was asleep and that there was no one else in the home at the time of the murder. There were no signs of a forced entry or a struggle.
Ibrahim was booked into the Vista Detention Facility on a felony first degree murder charge and is being held on a $5 million bond.
A motive behind the murder is yet to be released.
