Sac Sheriff Bags Ironic Jewelry Thief
SACRAMENTO — The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a suspect in connection to a recent jewelry theft, according to an official statement from the Sheriff’s Department.
Imani Stockstill (21) was arrested the evening of Wednesday, July 24, at his residence in Sacramento. He is currently in custody on a charge of grand theft and his bail has been set at $100,000.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, on July 1, a suspect tried on a necklace given to him by an employee at Sharif Jewelers. The suspect then ran from the store, necklace still adorning his person.
The incident was reportedly captured on the store’s surveillance cameras and the investigation led to Stockhill’s arrest.
The necklace, reportedly estimated by the store owner to be worth $40,000, was recovered by detectives.
