Father Killed in Car Crash while Son Drives Under the Influence
August 2nd- A 27 year-old man suspected of being under the influence while driving during a recent car crash has been arrested after the crash resulted in the death of his 60 year-old father.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver, 27 year-old Marciano Flores Jr., was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence.
The crash occurred around 11 p.m. last Friday night on Route 94 in Golden Hill. Flores was driving a 1994 Volvo at a high speed when he suddenly lost control of the vehicle when he arrived at a curve west of I-15. The vehicle then struck a raised curb on the side of the highway and hit two trees before coming to a halt in the middle of the road.
Flores suffered major injuries from the crash, and his father was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
