Parolee Robs Again
REDDING — On the 8th of August at approximately 4:30 AM, Redding PD officers were dispatched to a Circle K gas station at 2220 West Side Road where an apparent robbery had occured.
Upon arrival, employee Hiede Lynn Carmichael (43) brought the officers up to speed — the station had just been robbed by a suspect she described as a white male, approximately 5’10” and 190 lbs, and wearing a white sweatshirt and blue jeans.
Subsequent investigation revealed the suspect having entered the store acting suspiciously, waiting for all other customers to leave, then approaching Carmichael — who’d been standing next to the cash register. He sternly demanded money and while Carmichael attempted to gather it, he reached for his waistband with the implication that he was armed, telling Carmichael she’d get hurt if she didn’t hand over the money.
The suspect eventually fled on foot with the money he’d demanded, the amount of which remains undisclosed.
As the investigation continued, the suspect was discovered to be an acquaintance of an ex-employee and soon positively identified as 41-year-old Christopher Franklin Anderson. As it turned out, Anderson was already on active parole for robbery.
Later that day, at around 6:30 PM, Anderson turned himself in to Redding PD, where he was interviewed and promptly booked into the Shasta County Jail for robbery and parole violation.
