Deputies Seize a Stolen Firearm During Probation Search
BAKERSFIELD – Two Bakersfield felons were arrested on Thursday after deputies discovered the pair were in violation of possessing firearms, one of which was stolen.
Twenty-seven year old Crystal Deleon and 27-year-old Bernie Lopez both of Bakersfield, were booked into the Kern County Jail on multiple weapons charges, which included possession of a firearm and ammunition by a prohibited person and participation in a criminal street gang.
Deleon was also booked on three outstanding warrants for her arrest.
According to deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Gang Suppression Section, the firearms and an unreleased amount of ammunition was found inside a residence in the 1700 block of Owens Street on Nov. 12.
Deputies were reportedly at the residence to conduct a probation search when they made the discovery.
One of the firearms had been previously reported as stolen from Tulare County.
