BAKERSFIELD — Eight men were arrested on Friday as the result of a pair of undercover stings involving alcohol sales to minors.
Sergio Garcia, 37, along with 55-year-old Curtis Hubbard and 32-year-old James Henning, all of Bakersfield were arrested for furnishing alcohol to a minor. Danny Macias, 26, of Bakersfield was also arrested for petty theft and obstructing and resisting a peace officer.
In a separate yet related sting operation in nearby Lamont, officers arrested 30-year-old David Castillo and 27-year-old Francisco Cruz Jr., both of Lamont, along with 23-year-old Arvin resident Marcos Mezabotello; all for furnishing alcohol to a minor decoy. Mezabotello was also booked on two unrelated warrants.
Juan Castro, 31, of Lamont was also arrested for furnishing alcohol to a minor and obstructing and resisting a peace office.
All eight men were booked into the Kern County Jail.
According to authorities, detectives with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office and an agent with the State of California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control conducted the two alcohol enforcement operations on Nov. 15.
One operation was conducted in the south Bakersfield area of Kern County and the other operation was conducted in the Lamont area.
Both operations targeted individuals who agree to purchase and/or furnish alcohol to under age minor decoys.
