Huntington Beach- A Huntington Beach man allegedly barricaded himself inside the home of his neighbor while carrying a rifle.
According to Huntington Beach Police, 33-year old Bryan McLeod had an altercation with the neighbor around 6:00 pm on a Monday in which he kicked in the door of the person’s apartment. Then he decided to barricade himself inside with a rifle according to an email from Lt. Mitch O’Brien.
As police attempted to persuade McLeod into departing from the residence at the 8200 Block of San Angelo Drive and into their custody, the suspect responded by threatening to shoot any police who attempted to detain him.
After persistent negotiation by SWAT and crisis negotiators, McLeod finally surrendered, four hours after the incident began. He was later booked on suspicion of battery, assault on a peace officer, and resisting arrest.
When police investigators searched the residence of the 33-year-old man, they found “several loaded weapons,” according to police. The cause of the initial altercation is unknown, and is under investigation.
On of September 18 of this year he pleaded not guilty to charges of battery, assault on a peace officer and resisting arrest from a July 5th arrest. It is not known if this latest incident is related to the earlier
