Corona man arrested for stabbing after dispute over escort
Corona – A 32-year old man turned himself in to Corona police on Tuesday, November 9, for the stabbing to death of another man.
His name is James Michael Apodaca, and he allegedly had been involved in an argument with 25-year-old Robert Alexander over an escort from Backpage.com, according to police. The argument began as a conflict in the decision of monetary responsibility for the escort services between the two men, and escalated to physical dispute, according to Detective James Sears.
Both men were armed with “bladed weapons,” as police described, at the Parcwood Apartment Homes Friday morning around 3:00 am, when the original incident occurred.
After his surrender on Tuesday, Apodaca was questioned and booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside on suspicion of murder with no bail.
Apodaca has previous charges on his record including two misdemeanor charges of assault on a police officer, as well as resisting arrest. His three years of probation for those concluded just this past September.
