Gang Sweep Nets 8 Arrests
A joint effort of local law enforcement targeting gangs resulted in eight arrests on Saturday.
The sweep conducted by members of the Paso Robles Police, the San Luis Obispo County Probation Department, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Gang Task Force, the Atascadero Police Department, and Atascadero State Hospital Police Department K9 unit targeted adult and juvenile known gang members.
The sweep included North County areas, such as Paso Robles, San Miguel, Shandon, and Atascadero.
Officers seized approximately 11 grams a methamphetamine and a cache of weapons that included four rifles, one shotgun, four handguns, and seven revolvers.
Alleged gang members arrested were Erika Almirol (22) of Paso Robles for felony possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia; Nichol Green (34) of Paso Robles for two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia; Daniel Machado (55) of Paso Robles for warrants; and Nicholas Watson (29) of Atascadero for felony possession of a controlled substance for sale and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Four juveniles, ages 15 through 17, were also arrested for probation violations.
