SONOMA – A hot tip from a confidential informant led detectives to a search that uncovered a frightening operation set up at a residential home.
On Wednesday Sonoma County Sheriff’s Property Crime unit detectives obtained a search warrant for 21-year-old Ryan Cordano’s residence and vehicle. According to Sergeant Micheal Raasch or the Sheriff’s Office, the warrant was Wednesday morning at 7:30 am. Cordano was detained as he was leaving the house on Serpilio Drive.
In searching the young man’s bedroom, which was located in a converted garage of the home, they discovered two pounds of processed marijuana, a half ounce of heroin, packaging material and a digital scale, along with some cash. More frightening was the presence of two assault rifles, a sawed off shotgun, and a semi-automatic handgun.
A further search of the home led detectives to the bedroom of Cordano’s 16-year-old brother. taking after his big brother, the younger boy’s room revealed more marijuana, along with a bottle of liquor. The juvenile, who was not identified due to his age, was cited for the possession, but it was not clear if he was released to the custody of his parents, or if they were aware of the activities in the home.
Ryan Cordano was taken into custody and booked into Sonoma County Jail, charged with possession of heroin and marijuana for sale, possession of an illegal assault weapon and high capacity ammunition magazine, and possession of narcotics while armed. His bail was set at $150,000.
