Vacaville Police Investigators followed several leads to a residence in the quiet farm town of Elmira, population of approximately 100, which lies a few miles east of Leisure Town Road on the eastern outskirts of Vacaville. As a result of diligent detective work, VPD’s Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) members served a search warrant at a residence on Chicorp Lane in quiet downtown Elmira around 7:30am, Thursday, December 19.
After serving the warrant, officers searching the home discovered about 26 pounds of marijuana, a bit of methamphetamine, several weapones, $10,000 cash, stolen property, and other evidence of a commercial-scale marijuana operation.
Three Elmira residents — Delmacio Fernandez (30), Viola Gonzales (60), and Virginia Lomeli (31), were found in the residence at the time of the search. None offered any resistance as NET members took all three into custody. A 13-year-old child who was also discovered in the residence was taken into protective custody.
Humane Animal Services agends were called when three adult pit bull dogs and three pit bull puppies were discovered. Humane Animal Services removed the canines to a safe location.
Fernandez, Gonzales, and Lomeli were lodged in Solano County Jail in Fairfield. They face many charges including possession of marijuana for sale, possession of a controlled substance, committing a crime while on bail, probation violations, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of stolen property, and threatening a police officer.
