Officers Arrest Three at Local Motel
HOLLISTER—The Hollister Police Department arrested three individuals after they were found in possession of narcotics and a loaded firearm. They arrested 40-year-old Marc Solorio, 32-year-old Zavan Quezada and 18-year-old Stephen Michael Simmons. All three are residents of Hollister.
Officer Hutchison of the Hollister Police Department was on routine patrol when he drove into the parking lot of the Hollister Inn Motel to conduct a security check. He immediately recognized Solorio, who was standing next to a vehicle. “Officer Hutchison was aware that Solorio had a warrant out for his arrest.” Hollister Police Captain Carlos Reynoso said in a press release. He attempted to make contact with the wanted man.
Solorio attempted to evade the Officer by ducking into one of the rooms at the motel. With other officers now with him for back up, Officer Hutchison eventually made contact with Solorio and the two others, who were also in the room. Police found that the three individuals had narcotics, a firearm, and a large amount of money with them.
Solorio, Quezada and Simmons were all taken into custody immediately following the discovery of the narcotics. The three men were transported to a San Benito County Jail.
Solorio was charged with being felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, being in possession of a controlled substance while armed, along with the previous warrant, for being in possession of a controlled substance for sale. Quezada was charged with possession of a controlled substance. The youngest member of the group, Simmons, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
The Hollister Police is still investigating this incident and is asking anyone with information to call the Hollister Police Department at 1-831-636-4330.
