Temecula – Six teens allegedly posing as police officers ordered cars to pull over, then made passengers lie face down on the pavement, according to Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies.
The teens, three girls and three boys, reportedly used megaphones and high-powered flashlights to carry out the caper.
One of the boys, 18-year-old Mason Gonzalez of Temecula, was named because he is an adult. Names of the other suspects, all minors, were not released.
Investigators said the kids let the victims drive away unharmed. The prank was first reported to police on Dec. 23. Their identities and subsequent arrests were made easier because at some point they posted a video of at least one of the incidents on a social media site. The case proceeded quickly after that.
