Suspect was seen Lurking Around Cerra Vista School
HOLLISTER—48-year-old Robert Jimenez, Jr. of Hollister was arrested on Saturday after police found him carrying weapons and drugs near Cerra Vista Elementary School.
A concerned citizen called the Hollister Police Department on Saturday morning because he saw a suspicious man looking into parked vehicles and over fences near the area of Cerra Vista School and Union Road.
Hollister Police Officer Roland Abiang responded to the call and spotted Jimenez, who matched the description that the caller gave to police. During a routine officer safety search, Officer Abiang discovered that Jimenez was carrying a concealed knife along with a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Jimenez was taken into custody and arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying a concealed weapon and providing false identification to a peace officer. He was transported to San Benito County Jail.
“Hollister Police Department would like to thank the citizen that called the police.” Hollister Police Sergeant Don Pershall said in a press release, “together we can make our community a safer one to live in.”
