San Luis Obispo police arrested two men for allegedly possessing stolen property on Monday morning around 7:48 a.m.
According to SLOPD, they received a call regarding the theft of stolen property from a vehicle in the downtown area. The vehicle belonged to a SLO firefighter.
The stolen property taken included clothing used for firefighting, SLOFD fire equipment and accessories.
Police say fire department personnel spotted two men with some of the equipment as the suspects rode bicycles in the area of Caudill and Victoria.
The two were found at the Goodwill on Industrial Way.
Investigators were able to recover the majority of the equipment.
Police arrested transients Esteban Mota, 26, and Casey Cerro, 27.
During the investigation a second victim reported a theft of tools. She said the tools were taken from her vehicle near the Amtrak Train Station.
Witness descriptions matched that of the two suspects in custody.
Mota was charged with two counts of possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Cerro was charged with two counts of possession of stolen property.
