Traffic stop yields warrant arrest

Paso Robles Police arrested a man after he allegedly attempted to evade officers during a traffic stop on Thursday around 5:50 p.m.

According to PRPD, officers arrested 19-year-old Rafael Anguiano-Aguilar of Paso Robles after the suspect failed to pull over for a traffic stop. Officers reported they saw Anguiano-Aguilar driving a Chevrolet truck along the 3000 block of Spring Street. They attempted to pull him over because they recognized him and knew he had three misdemeanor arrest warrants.

Police say Anguiano-Aguilar attempted to evade them by circling the block at speeds of approximately 50 mph. He eventually stopped near 30th and Oak Streets, but tried to escape on foot from officers. Officers quickly found Anguiano-Aguilar, with the assistance of a police canine, hiding at a nearby friend’s residence.

Anguiano-Aguilar was arrested and transported to the San Luis Obispo County Jail where he was booked for his arrest warrants and attempts to evade arrest.
