An El Dorado Hills resident was arrested for numerous charges after barricading himself inside a vehicle and threatening to kill officers, according to an official report from the Rocklin Police Department.
Matthew Harrison Allen, 24, was reportedly arrested and charged with resisting arrest, threatening officers, driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license for DUI, possession of an open container of alcohol, possession of marijuana while driving, and outstanding warrants. He was reportedly booked into the Placer County Jail. He had been arrested multiple times in the past year for drug and alcohol offenses, including once in San Diego County.
According to the Rocklin PD, on January 1, 2014, at about 8:16 pm, officers reported made contact with Allen — who was known to have a warrant for his arrest out in Sacramento County — while he was inside of his vehicle in the 4800 block of Pacific Street.
Allen reportedly began threatening to shoot and kill officers, refusing to exit his vehicle and fighting with officers. Eventually Allen was taken into custody and was reportedly found to be driving under the influence. Additionally, upon a search of his vehicle officers reportedly found an open container of alcohol and a small amount of marijuana.
