ROSEDALE — Police arrested a 38-year-old felon on Friday after following leads from an investigation of theft from several northwest Bakersfield construction sites.
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, detectives from the Rural Crime Investigation Unit served a search warrant, resulting from the theft of diesel fuel and appliances from houses under construction in the Rosedale area, at 21447 Kratzmeyer Road on Jan. 10.
It was there they located William Stuart Crunk, who was currently out of jail on bail for a prior arrest.
Crunk was immediately taken into custody and a search of his home and vehicle ensued.
Deputies said that during the search, they discovered several firearms, stolen property and rounds of ammunition, along with suspected methamphetamine and additional ammunition in Crunk’s vehicle.
Crunk was booked into the Sheriff’s Central Receiving Facility for possession of firearm by felon, possession of ammunition by felon, possession of stolen property, possession of suspected methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
His bail was set at $55,000.
