A 42-year-old Santa Barbara resident has been arrested on suspicion of molesting a high school girl.
Officers arrested Florentino Miranda after a tip from child welfare services prompted an investigation. The victim, who was younger than 14 at the time of the crime, is reportedly a family member.
The investigation, which included interviewing the victim at her high school, yielded enough evidence for officers to obtain a search warrant for Miranda’s arrest.
He was booked outside his home on Wednesday evening. Investigators say he confessed to the crime.
