Drug arrest in Novato motel

A search by Novato police officers in the early hours of Tuesday morning led to the arrest of a Bay Area woman on multiple drug offenses, including possession of heroin and methamphetamine.

Jana Dominguez, a 26-year-old Vacaville resident, was staying at the Americas Best Inn at 7600 Redwood Boulevard in Novato on Monday evening, according to Lieutenant John McCarthy of the Novato Police Department.

An NPD press release explains that Novato patrol officers entered Dominguez’s room at 1:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. While officers were in Dominguez’s room, they encountered substances that they believed to be heroin and methamphetamine, along with what appeared to be narcotic paraphernalia. Officers quickly determined that Dominguez was under the influence of narcotics during their interaction.

Patrol officers transported Dominguez to Marin County Jail, where she was booked and charged with possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamines, possession of narcotic paraphernalia, and being under the influence of narcotics.

Dominguez had also been arrested in October 8 in Vacaville on charges of drug possession and sales, and for shoplifting in Dixon on December 1. She has listed residences in both Oakland and Vacaville.
