REDDING – Police have announced the arrest of one of their publicized “Most Wanted” suspects, 22-year-old Dylan Forest Meese of Redding.
Meese appeared on the Most Wanted list a week ago, Tuesday February 25th. The charge at that time was Burglary, according to the press release from Redding Police. He had been convicted of the offense and had failed to appear for his sentencing.
On Meese’s Facebook page, he had posted a somewhat hopeful message last August about re-directing his life. “i laugh at those who dare to judge me because i know when i die only one will and can truly judge and he is my lord and savior GOD. matthew 1-5. I may have done my stupid childish things but now im a man of god i am moving to oregon soon because i have a good job up their. constructing buildings.” Perhaps those plans changed when he was arrested in October, at that time for possession of drug paraphernalia and probation violations. In 2011, when he was 19, Meese had been arrested for automobile theft and drug charges on two different occasions, and again in 2012 on drug charges.
His most recent Facebook post was made on January 29, when he said “got some wax oil for sale hit me up [phone number deleted]”. Unless he was trying to unload some surplus floor wax he had at home, he was likely offering up some “honey oil” also known as hash oil or wax, which is a concentrated cannabis product, and an illegal narcotic.
Redding Police received a call last Thursday, February 27 at 3 pm with an anonymous tip that Dylan Meese could be found at his residence on the 2600 block of Lanning Avenue. He was arrested the next day, and booked into Shasta County Jail on five outstanding warrants, along with two charges for narcotics possession (wax?) and one count of vehicle theft.
Redding police announced that Dylan Meese’s arrest was their 98th of their “Most Wanted” program, and that twenty fugitives remain at large. They offer a $250 reward for information leading to an arrest called into Shascom at 530-245-6540, the county Secret Witness line at 530-243-2319, or the website at SecretWitness.com.
