WEST SACRAMENTO—Four men identified as known street gang members were arrested Tuesday morning, March 4 on warrants served by the West Sacramento Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Safe Streets Task Force.
Police arrested Richard Mancha, 29, Richard Posada, 28 and Ricardo Garza, 37, all of West Sacramento, and Robert Sanchez, 37, of North Highlands. The four are known Norteno street gang members who were wanted in connection with the sale of methamphetamine and criminal street gang activity, according to a West Sacramento Police Department news release.
According to Police, the warrants resulted from a long-term investigation by the department and the Safe Streets Task Force into the sales of methamphetamine in West Sacramento. Tuesday’s searches turned up additional quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana, along with ammunition and gang paraphernalia.
The FBI Safe Streets Task Force includes the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, California Highway Patrol and the Sacramento Police Department. West Sacramento police said the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation’s special services unit and the Davis Police Department’s Safe Team members were also key to the investigation and arrests.
