The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department has reportedly arrested a fifth suspect in the stabbing death of a 41-year-old man earlier this month, according to an official press release.
Jose Guadalupe Salazar, 21, was reportedly arrested on March 20, on an unrelated arrest warrant, and then was additionally booked on March 21 by Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives for murder. Salazar is reportedly currently being held at the Sacramento County Main Jail without the possibility of bail. Homicide detectives reportedly do not anticipate any additional arrests in this case.
As we had previously reported on March 17, four more suspects had been previously arrested in this case, including Sebastian Flores Torres, 21, and three male juveniles.
On Wednesday, March 12, Sac Sheriff officers had reportedly been called out for a stabbing at the 2300 block of Wyda Way where they found three victims with stab wounds — two adult males and one male juvenile. One of the victims — Shannon Gregg, 41 — reportedly later died from his injuries. Gregg, along with another adult victim, was said to have been coming to the aid of the teenage minor victim, who was the target of the attack. The assailants appeared to have mistaken the 15-year-old boy as a gang member and followed him to the Wyda Way house.
