BAKERSFIELD — Two gang members were arrested after deputies discovered several weapons and illegal drugs during the execution of a search warrant in central Bakersfield on Thursday.
Roy Chavez, 23, and 28-year-old Rolando Chavez were booked into the Kern County Jail’s Central Receiving Facility.
Roy Chavez is facing multiple weapons and narcotic charges including, possession of a firearm and ammunition by a felon, possession of hashish possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of sale and participation of a criminal street gang. Rolando Chavez was charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance.
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, gang unit deputies went to residence in the 1900 block of Tulare Street in Bakersfield on March 21, at approximately 5 p.m., to serve a warrant. While serving the warrant deputies located a sawed off shotgun, a Remington 700 rifle, several rounds of ammunition, one and a quarter ounces of methamphetamine, a gram of hashish and a Taser.
