San Luis Police has a man in custody who allegedly stole a gold cart and was involved in a hit-and-run.
According to SLOPD, officers responded to a call regarding a stolen golf cart last Friday around 4:52 p.m.
Police say the cart was stolen from a local apartment complex.
Police recovered the cart after it was involved in a collision at Bond and Hathway.
During the accident a passenger was injured, but police are not releasing the passenger’s name.
The driver of the cart was identified as Jacob Rouch, 20, of Pismo Beach, who, according to police, fled the scene without providing any information to the owner of the parked vehicle. The parked car was damaged in the collision.
Police say Rouch responded to the investigating officer’s inquiries and provided a statement regarding his involvement I the incident.
Rouch was arrested for felony DUI and felony hit-and-run.
He was booked into SLO County Jail and his bail was set for $150,000.
