SACRAMENTO—Sacramento homicide detectives have arrested Matthew Drake, 28, in connection with the death of a woman on April 22 at her Meadowview home.
Police responded to the 2100 block of Matson Drive regarding a report of a female adult bleeding and in need of medical aid on Tuesday at approximately 8:19 pm. Responding officers quickly discovered that the victim, in her 30s, had been assaulted with a blunt object inside an adult group home where she resides.
Detectives allege that Drake was a friend of the victim and that she had allowed him into her home. Drake later got into an altercation with the victim (whose name has not yet been released) and this led to her assault. Fox 40 quoted a person close to the incident identifying the victim by the name “Fallon”.
Drake, who is on parole, was detained while riding his bicycle on Winnett Way and was arrested after being questioned by detectives. Winnett Way is about two and a half miles from the scene of the killing. Drake’s parole status is from an incident in 2012 when he was involved in a domestic dispute. He reportedly punched one of the Sacramento Police officers who responded to the call. There were other charges against him as well.
