A San Miguel man is under arrest for allegedly committing burglary, eavesdropping and criminal threats.
The suspect was arrested by deputies of the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to a residential burglary in the area of Bonita Place and Verde Place in San Miguel.
Investigators say a suspect was identified at that time, but during the course of their investigation, they discovered the suspect had allegedly gained access to three other homes in that area and installed cameras in the ventilation system.
Investigators claim that in each case, a camera was positioned behind a vent in the master bedroom of the house so the suspect was able to record images by use of a wireless camera and receiver.
The suspect was identified as Eutimio Contreras Anguiano, 34 of San Miguel.
Anguiano was arrested for burglary, eavesdropping, and making criminal threats.
The Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation and is asking residents in Northern San Luis Obispo County to check their ventilation system for any signs of tampering that may be consistent with this crime.
