INGLEWOOD, CA — There are many independent trucking companies out there, and many regulations restricting certain behavior and mandating methods, but every now and then one of the drivers breaks free and is hauled off with a truckload of charges.
Marvis Jackson, 47, was arrested by Inglewood Police Department (IPD) on Friday, April 18 at approximately 7:30 p.m. He was stopped at the corner of Century Boulevard and 6th Avenue, a stretch of street in Inglewood that is well-known for being one of the most worst-maintained major thoroughfares in the area. Potholes, gravel, badly timed traffic lights, and red-light cameras best describe the seven-lane boulevard.
And it may be that that remarkably bumpy ride that prompted Jackson to blow a gasket.
The Los Angeles man was charged with eight offenses: inflicting corporal injury, aggravated mayhem, reckless driving, failure to use turn signal, failure to stop at a red light, driving at unsafe speeds, petition to revoke parole, and one small inexplicable charge named “22100” that had a pithy bail amount of $35.
Total bail, however, was set at $55,270 for six of the eight charges.
One could imagine it will be a long time before Jackson is back in the driver’s seat.
