22-year-old Viktoria Lopez and 25-year-old Robert Justin Lopez are facing robbery charges under PC 211-212.5(c) and for PC 207 (a) – Robbery at a teller machine, and first degree robbery and kidnapping with the use of force.
On Tuesday, April 15, a man reported that a black or Hispanic male had taken his personal belongings. The San Jose Police Department responded to the location near 600 Seely Ave and Epic Way in San Jose.
The man told officers that he and a female acquaintance – later identified as Viktoria Lopez – were at the Loft Restaurant and Bar, located on 90 South 2nd Street in downtown San Jose. After talking for several hours they decided to go to her place. The man stated that after he had been seduced by the female and was cleaning up after himself, a black male suddenly entered the living room area where he had been sitting earlier, and threatened him with a knife. The male suspect told the victim that he wanted money.
The male suspect took the victim to his car and they drove to the Chase Bank ATM, where he forced the male victim withdraw $500. They then drove back to the apartment complex and he took the man’s keys, wallet and iPhone.
The adult male was still at large when officers arrived. Officers went to the Chase Bank and contacted a Security Officer working where the robbery occurred, but the Security Officer did not see the robbery. Video surveillance was requested by SJPD officers at the scene. Officers later were able to identify Robert and Viktoria Lopez as a married couple.
Viktoria, who reports her occupation as “adult model”, told authorizes that she just thought her husband was going to escort him out, but he ended up robbing him. When officers located Robert, whose occupation is also “model”, they had found an Apple iPhone and other items belonging to the victim. $600 was also collected. Robert told authorities that he had gone for a walk and did not know that his wife had brought someone home. He then said when he got back he saw that his wife had someone with her. He decided to rob the victim after knowing his wife had just given the Asian male a sexual favor.
Robert Lopez was remanded into custody on a three-hundred-thousand dollar bond after officers were also able to determine that Robert was suspected of selling drugs. The next court hearing for the married couple has been set for May 13, 2014 in Dept. 35 at 1:30 PM.
