INGLEWOOD, CA—He was trained to help fulfill the Hippocratic Oath—but did he have to beat it into a spouse’s head that he had a job to do?
Deandre Donnell Jones, 36, was arrested by Inglewood Police department (IPD) on Tuesday, May 6 at approximately 4:30 p.m. for a number of related warrants and charges.
The Inglewood resident and self-proclaimed Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) was picked up by IPD along the 900 block of North Cesar Chavez—which is the bridge over the L.A. River just one-quarter mile from Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and which is heavily patrolled by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) even as it is within the jurisdiction of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). It should be noted that the arrest address is approximately 14 miles from IPD’s main station on 1 Manchester in Inglewood.
Jones was charged with battery of a spouse as well as having two outstanding “battery: spouse” warrants from the Riverside County Sheriff.
The collective bail for the two Riverside warrants was $15,000. The bail set by IPD, however, clocked in at $36,000.
Did IPD elect to transport him back via ambulance? Spokespeople did not respond, but the high bail may have been explained by that ambulance ride.
