Last Thursday night, May 15, Santa Rosa Police reported that they were called to Tachevah Drive in Santa Rosa at 9:40 pm on reports of a stabbing. Before they arrived at the scene, they were told the victim was being taken to the hospital for treatment for her wounds by a family member. The woman, who is a local resident but whose age was not specified, is said to have been treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The police sent officers to both the hospital and the scene to investigate and search for the suspect, a 23-year-old woman. The search came up empty until an anonymous tip led them to Rebekah Sammet, who lives at the location of the stabbing. She was found at an undisclosed location, and was arrested without incident. Sammet, a one time In Home Health Services caregiver, was booked at the Sonoma County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
