LAMONT — A 22-year-old Lamont man was arrested on Tuesday night after leading police on a high speed pursuit.
Eduardo Gonzalez, was booked into the Kern County Jail’s Central Receiving Facility on charges of evading a peace officer, driving on a suspended license and other various vehicle code violations.
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began around 10:30 p.m. on May 23, when deputies from the Lamont substation attempted to stop Gonzalez near the intersection of Main Street and Alicante Avenue in Lamont for various vehicle code violations.
Gonzalez failed to comply, and instead led deputies on a 15-mile long vehicle pursuit lasting approximately 20 minutes through the streets of Lamont and into the nearby City of Bakersfield, before he finally surrendered to deputies at the intersection of Union and California Avenues.
No one was injured and Gonzalez was taken into custody without incident.
