Officers from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department have arrested two juveniles today, Tuesday, June 10, in connection to a shooting yesterday in Sacramento that left one dead and one injured, according to an official press release. Both the male juvenile suspects — whose identities cannot be released due to their age — were reportedly booked into the Sacramento County Juvenile Hall early this morning.
According to Sac Sheriff, on Monday, June 9 at 12:30 pm, deputies reportedly responded to multiple calls from citizens reporting shots fired in the 4800 block of 48th Street. Upon arrival, deputies reportedly found two males in their 20s had been shot. Both shooting victims were reportedly transported to a local hospital. One victim was reportedly pronounced dead at the hospital, and the second victim reportedly sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Numerous witnesses had reportedly seen two Hispanic male suspects flee the scene on bicycles. Detectives reportedly were able to detain both juvenile suspects after the shooting.
A motive for the shooting and homicide is reportedly unknown at this time, and Sheriff’s homicide detectives are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the Sheriff’s Department at 916-874-5115.
