BAKERSFIELD — A pair of convicted felons are again behind bars after deputies discovered weapons and narcotics during a search of their home on Wednesday morning.
Arnold Berlanga, 30, and 34-year-old Josh Lostaunau were booked into the Kern County Jail on multiple weapons and drug related charges, including, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of sale and felon in possession of a firearm, possession of stolen property and possession of a firearm by a member of a criminal street gang.
Lostaunau was also booked on an outstanding warrant for violating the terms of his probation and participation in a criminal street gang. Both men are being held without bail.
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, deputies from the Gang Suppression Section went to a residence in the 2300 block of Nelson Street in Bakersfield at around 11:30 a.m. on July 9, to a conduct a compliance check Berlanga who is on active probation through the electronic monitoring program. Lostaunau was also at the residence.
During their search, deputies said they located a stolen .45 caliber Glock semi-auto handgun, a 9mm semi-auto Ruger handgun and a .22 caliber semi-auto Berretta handgun, as well as one and a half ounces of methamphetamine and paraphernalia indicative of narcotics sales.
