KINGSBURG – A state correctional officer was arrested over the weekend after two teenagers came forward accusing him of undisclosed sex crimes.
On Friday night, a mother took her 15-year-old daughter into the Kingsburg Police Department to report a sex crime that had taken place in Kingsburg. An investigation into the allegations led officers to arrest suspect Chad Jerome Shaddon, 39, of Kingsburg.
Shaddon, a correctional officer with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, was dating the victim’s mother at the time of the alleged offense, according to the police department.
He was arrested on charges of lewd and lascivious acts with a child and sexual battery. He was booked at the Fresno County Jail and later released on bail bond.
Shaddon was re-arrested on July 14 after an additional victim came forward to report being victimized by the correctional officer. The 14-year-old female told her family about the molestations after seeing media coverage of Shaddon’s previous arrest. She said that the molestations had taken place at residences in Kingsburg, according to the police department.
Shaddon was again booked at the Fresno County Jail, this time on charges of lewd and lascivious acts with a child and penetration by foreign object. His bail was set at $1.5 million.
