The Roseville Police Department have recently made one arrested in a home burglary, with the investigation for further suspects still ongoing, according to an official weekly crime report.
Donald Burton Mangum, 36, of Sacramento was reportedly arrested on suspicion of burglary and other related charges.
According to Roseville PD, on Tuesday, July 22, at about 2 pm, a witness saw two men she did not know loading a gun safe into the back of an SUV at a house in the 2000 block of Monterey Pines Drive. The two suspects reportedly drove away in a hurry with the SUV’s hatch still open. The witness reportedly called 911, prompting officers to reportedly meet with the homeowner, who had determined jewelry and several other items — including the gun safe — had been stolen.
As the suspects were driving away from the scene, the gun safe reportedly fell out of the back of the SUV on West Hills Drive. Officers were reportedly able to recover the safe intact with all the of its contents.
Officers then reportedly followed up on leads and visited two homes in North Highlands, where they reportedly recovered several items of property stolen from the house on Monterey Pines Drive, as well as property taken from a residential burglary in Sacramento County, and methamphetamine for good measure.
According to Roseville PD, officers have identified additional suspects and the investigation is continuing.
