On Tuesday, July 29 around 2 p.m., Pomona police received emergency calls from people reporting that they had a seen a man with a gun at the 800 block of West Holt Avenue.
According to the report, the suspect shot a man in a white car, and drove away from the scene in a gray car. But the police could not locate any victim at that time.
Later, Upland police located a victim that they thought had been shot in Upland, but it ended up being the same man who was shot in Pomona. Unfortunately, the victim did not survive due to the severity of his injuries from the shooting. He was identified as a 36-year-old male, Jose Suazo. He was pronounced dead at a home in the 1500 block of Sullivan Street in Upland. The suspect had not yet been identified at the time.
Pomona detectives continued the investigation for a couple days after the shooting, and finally identified a suspect on Thursday, July 31. Timothy Jetson, 47, was located and arrested without incident around 9 p.m. He was located in a Rialto residence. Jetson is currently being held on a $1,000,000 bail.
