BAKERSFIELD — Two people are behind bars after being arrested on Thursday morning for leaving an infant and toddler alone inside an east Bakersfield home.
Johnny Dontrell Blinks, 28, and 23-year-old Amanda Nicole Hargis, both of Bakersfield, were booked into the Kern County Jail on charges of child endangerment.
According to a press release issued by the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call regarding a three year-old child and an eight-month-old infant being left alone at home in the 1000 block of Water Street at around 11:35 a.m. on July 31.
Deputies said that when they arrived they discovered that the children were left in the temporary custody of a family member. However, as a result of their investigation, they found that the children were left at home without any adult supervision.
