Gang Member Arrested for Firing Shot Into Air at Macy’s Parking Lot
FRESNO – A gang member who allegedly fired several rounds from his gun into the parking lot at Fresno’s Fashion Fair Mall on Friday night was arrested.
Police were alerted by one caller that there was an armed man in the Macy’s parking lot at Fashion Fair around 7 p.m. Friday, and were told by another caller that a man who had shot into the air appeared to be in some sort of fight with a female, police said.
When officers arrived on the scene, 34-year-old Alfred Samuels – who had been identified by witnesses as the shooter – led them on a chase through a nearby residential neighborhood. The officers eventually captured and arrested him, police said.
A loaded .40 caliber gun was found in one of the front yards that Samuels ran through. A records check of the weapon revealed that it was stolen. Officers also found .40 caliber shell casings in the Fashion Fair parking lot.
