WILLITS, MENDOCINO COUNTY – Last Wednesday, August 6, Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to a home on Poppy Drive in the northern area of the town of Willits, in the wooded hills near the small Willits airport. They were responding to a report of a domestic violence assault.
They arrived just before 6 pm, according to a Sheriff’s press release, and contacted a woman at the location. She said that her boyfriend and she were having an argument at their home, and that he became violent. She reported that the man, 47-year-old Timothy Glenn Gregory, had thrown a half can of beer at her during the dispute, hitting her on the leg.
She said that she then left the house and got into her car, locking the doors to get away from him. In anger, Gregory then got into his own lifted Chevrolet pickup truck, rammed her car while she sat inside, causing major damage to the vehicle. The woman suffered no visible injuries as a result, however.
Gregory then reportedly left the area on foot. The deputies, however, didn’t have to go far. He was located about 30 yards from their shared home.
Gregory is on “Summary Probation” in Mendocino County with an “obey all laws” clause. He was arrested without further incident, and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, battery on a spouse or co-habitant, vandalism, and probation violations.
