WASCO — Four adults and one juvenile suspect are behind bars after being arrested for robbing a drug store in Wasco on Tuesday afternoon.
Tiesha Todd, 23, 22-year-old Jeremiah Langston, 19-year-old Kiesha Moore , 21-year-old Shanice Morgan and a 17-year-old female were all booked on various charges related to the robbery of a Rite Aid in the City of Wasco.
Todd, Moore, Morgan and the juvenile were all booked on armed robbery and criminal conspiracy felony charges, while Langston was booked on armed robbery, criminal conspiracy and participating in a criminal street gang.
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, all five of the suspects entered the Rite Aid store on Highway 46 in Wasco at approximately 2 p.m. on Aug. 19, stole several items and shot pepper spray at employees before fleeing the scene by vehicle.
While en route deputies spotted a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle traveling on Highway 46 at Griffith Avenue in Wasco,” KCSO Public Information Officer Ray Pruitt said. “Deputies quickly initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and detained all five suspects, taking them into custody without incident.”
Pruitt also said that during a search of the vehicle the suspect’s were driving , deputies discovered three cans of pepper spray in the passenger compartment of the vehicle, along with stolen Rite Aid property valued at approximately $800, along with a baby carrier and large hand bags that the robbers had allegedly used to hide the stolen items as they exited the store.
