SANGER – Two men from Sanger were arrested on Thursday in connection to a shooting that happened seven years ago and left one person dead.
Police arrested 29-year-old Victor Rodriguez-Mendoza and 28-year-old Victor Estrada in connection to the murder. They were both arrested at their homes in Sanger. Police are still searching for a third man, 28-year-old Felix Rios, who is believed to have been involved in the incident.
The shooting happened on July 1, 2007. Deputies responded to the area of Annadale and Reed avenues, where they found three people with gunshot wounds. One of the victims died at the scene. The other two had wounds that were non-life threatening.
Investigators say the shooting happened during a large party that was going on in a nearby orchard. A disturbance erupted and shots were fired. All of the suspects fled before the deputies arrived at the scene.
The shooting was believed to be gang-related.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Rios for attempted murder. He is considered armed and dangerous.
