SACRAMENTO—Police continue to search for the suspect believed to be responsible for two recent incidents in which older men have been stabbed while walking in the same area of Sacramento. Both victims were treated for non-life-threatening knife wounds and released from medical care.
Police released this sketch of the suspect based on victim’s accounts.
According to the Sacramento Police Department, the first stabbing was Monday, August 18 as a 61-year-old man walked on U Street near 10th Street. The assailant was walking in the opposite direction toward the victim and stabbed him in the neck in passing.
The following Monday, August 25, a 75-year-old man walking in the area of T and 10th streets was stabbed in the neck from behind.
Both victims were Asian and investigators are looking into whether that was a factor in the attacks.
Police believe the same man is responsible for both assaults. He is described as black, between the ages of 30 and 50 years old, and 5 feet 7 inches to 6 feet tall. He has a medium build and short black hair.
