“Cable Guy” Gets Multiple Warrants for Failing to Appear on Time
HAWTHORNE, CA—Anyone who has ever wasted a day waiting for a cable guy to show up will read this incident with pleasure.
Deonta Julius Jackson, 22, was stopped by Hawthorne Police Department officers on Tuesday, September 9 at approximately 8 p.m. along the 12100 block of Inglewood Avenue in Hawthorne. The Los Angeles resident and self-proclaimed “cable guy” was charged with possession of marijuana/hashish with the intent to sell (11359HS) and possession of a concentrated cannabis product (11357(A)HS), which in this case most likely meant hashish.
According to Drugs.com, “Hashish is a potent form of cannabis (marijuana) produced by collecting and compressing trichomes, the most potent material from cannabis plants. Trichomes are the fine growths on cannabis plants that produce a sticky resin.”
Bail for the two charges was $30,000.
Along with those fresh charges, Jackson had four warrants issued from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA, aka Metro), the L.A. County agency that oversees the public transportation system. Those warrants were from failure to appear, presumably on evading payment of fare. Each of the MTA warrants has a bail of $561. (The fine for such evasion is $250, and years of police record research has shown that failure to appear on the charge almost always brings a $561 bench warrant.)
Condolences to those cable customers whom Jackson may have been scheduled to visit later in the week, but then again, he may have had no intention of showing up for them anyway.
