BAKERSFIELD — Two men suspected of robbing four people at gunpoint in an alley in east Bakersfield are in custody.
Andres Aguirre-Aguilar, 19, and 24-year-old Andres Rivera were both booked in the Kern County Jail on charges of robbery, possession of a short barreled shotgun, displaying an imitation firearm, and conspiracy.
Rivera also faces additional charges of felon in possession of a firearm and felon in possession of ammunition.
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were responding to an armed robbery in progress report on Friday, September 12. They arrived at the 1200 block of Flower Street in Bakersfield at around 2:30 p.m., and discovered that two Hispanic male suspects robbed four victims with a rifle and handgun.
The victims told deputies that the two men fled in a black mini truck, which was located a short time later by deputies near the intersection of Flower Street and Williams Street in east Bakersfield. A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver and passenger were positively identified as the robbery suspects. Deputies said they also found a sawed off shotgun and a replica handgun inside the truck the suspects were occupying.
