BAKERSFIELD — Three Bakersfield men were arrested on Monday for allegedly stealing nearly a quarter of million dollars in copper and aluminum.
Cody King, 26, 26-year-old Danell Green and 37-year-old Gary Holder, all from Bakersfield, were booked into the Kern County Jail on Sept. 29, for various theft related charges including possession of copper material, grand theft and conspiracy.
According to Bakersfield Police Department Public Information Officer Sergeant Joe Grubbs, the trio was taken into custody concluding a several-month investigation by BPD detectives into the serial thefts of air conditioning condensers and piping from atop various commercial buildings in the Bakersfield area.
Grubbs also said that the investigation led to the identity of all three suspects who allegedly are responsible for at least fifteen of the thefts, totaling over $200,000. Police also said they located 377 pounds of aluminum condensers and 39 pounds of copper piping.
